The building of Çiçek Pasajı was built by banker Hristaki Zografos Efendi in 1876. The building was built as a Paris type structure, which was fashionable at that time, and contains 24 shops downstairs and 18 flats on the upper floor. When the florists’ auction was held in Cite de Pera in the 1940s, the building began to be called “Flowers’ Arcade”. There are still many taverns in the passage, where taverns started to be opened in the 1940s.
